Low-cost care in India: a solution for the problems of future?

Low-cost services, be it in IT or in the medical field, have been a a specialty of India. The newest addition to these services, low-cost care for old people from the developed countries, is a sign of changing global demographics.

31.8% Indians are under the age of 15. It is expected that, in 2020, the average age of an Indian will be 29 years. That means, India will have a huge working population for the coming decades. But at the same time, the average age of people in the developed countries are going higher and higher. For example, by 2050 the average age of a German will be 50 years.

Most of the developed nations will have high numbers of old people, who are not able to work. As resources to work for them (young people) will be scarce, the already high costs of medical care will be unaffordable for these old people.

In such a situation, India will have a very big part to play. It will be difficult for India to provide jobs for the biggest working age population. So the young people in India, who will hopefully be willing to take care of old people from the other parts of the world, will be a solution for Europe's and America's age problem.

  • dear raakshas ,
first of all thanks to comming on pratirodh and giving me your most valuable comment. acutally I'm not considering china right now as an issue of anti devlopment or anti aam admi. but in future, i will consider. but only because of human right violation. if you think that something is going wrong there , u may sned me your comment and i assure you that i will publish that comment as a post. you know that i'm from India and indian issues are most important for me than anything else. right now , the saffron scheme in India spreading by RSS and BJP is the most painable and shameable thing for India . Being a true Indian , this is my very first duty to expose them and their anti human policies towards world. hope , you;ll understand my point as you are also an Indian.
